Strategic Study on AI Applications in Construction
Project Overview:
The Building Technology Research Institute (BTRi) together with its collaboration partners is undertaking a strategic study on Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications in the construction industry. The study will systematically review global AI and digitalisation solutions relevant to construction, assess the Hong Kong industry’s readiness for adoption, and establish a web-based platform repository as a first-of-its-kind knowledge base. This initiative aims to identify high-potential AI use cases and lay the foundation for scalable adoption across the sector.
Key Achievement:
The study delivers an integrated digital platform consolidating global AI-in-construction solutions, supported by a standardised evaluation framework. It further provides prioritised use cases and validated business cases from which a set of baseline requirements will be derived. A phased adoption roadmap will be proposed to enable, industry stakeholders to capture early value while preparing for long-term, sustainable AI transformation.
