Building Technology Research Institute (BTRi) is a limited company wholly owned by the Financial Secretary Incorporated.
We are shaping the future of construction by:
conducting research and development in innovative construction materials, construction methods and technologies
advancing local standards and formulating local and Greater Bay Area (GBA) standards for new materials and technologies
conducting testing and providing accreditation and certification for new solutions
We leverage Hong Kong's unique advantages and aim to establish the GBA as one of the leading regions with the most advanced construction technologies, and transform the construction industry into a high-quality, innovative force.

BTRi Seminar: Future-Proofing Hong Kong: From Strategic Mindsets to Advanced Standards
BTRi successfully hosted the first BTRi Seminar, with the theme "Future-Proofing Hong Kong: From Strategic Mindsets to Advanced Standards”. The Seminar brought together approximately 200 representatives from government, academia, and industry to explore how innovative mindsets and standards reviews can enhance the cost effectiveness in the construction industry.

Launched Construction Product Accreditation Scheme (CPAS)
The Construction Product Accreditation Scheme (CPAS) focuses on product quality and provides measurable guidance to introduce and promote the wider adoption of high-quality, cost-effective, and innovative construction products for the Hong Kong construction industry.
First BTRi Conference
First BTRi Conference
BTRi successfully hosted the first BTRi Conference, with the theme “Elevating to New Heights: Leading Construction Innovation in the New Era”, brought together approximately 250 participants from government, universities and industry to foster collaboration on construction innovation.
Signing of MoU
Signing of Memoranda of Understanding
BTRi signed Memoranda of Understanding with the Guangdong Provincial Academy of Building Research, the Building and Construction Authority of Singapore, the University of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, to collaborate and promote innovative applications to address the pressing challenges of the construction industry.

Launched Modular Integrated Construction Manufacturer Accreditation Scheme (MiC-MAS)
Aim at strengthening the MiC module supply chain, elevating the standards and reliability of MiC modules, and promoting the application of high-quality, cost-effective building materials.
