Workshop on the Technical Specification for the Remote Control Tower Crane System (RCTCS) co-organised by BTRi & HKUST

On 26 March 2026, the Building Technology Research Institute (BTRi) and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) jointly organised a workshop on the Technical Specification for the Remote Control Tower Crane System (RCTCS).  The workshop brought together representatives from government authorities and key construction industry stakeholders, with active participation from academic institutions, professional associations and trade associations. The framework of the Technical Specification, together with strategies for promoting the wider application of RCTCS, were discussed. The valuable insights and professional exchanges arising from the discussions are highly beneficial to the ongoing refinement of the standard, contributing to enhanced performance and safety in tower crane operations and to the development of a robust advanced construction ecosystem.
