BTRi and HKIE Materials Division Chart the Path for Materials Engineering Excellence

On 11 August 2026, the Building Technology Research Institute (BTRi) met with the Hong Kong Institute of Engineers (HKIE) Materials Division to exchange views on how materials engineering practices can support the advancement of Hong Kong’s construction industry. 

The discussion covered several key industry topics, including fire safety, advanced materials technologies, quality assurance, and materials testing practices. Both parties express intention for closer collaboration and knowledge sharing to promote innovative construction materials that enhance the quality, safety, and sustainability of Hong Kong’s construction industry.
