Go Global: Paving the Way for MiC-MAS Accredited Manufacturers to Explore New Opportunities in Australia
On 26 February 2026, the Building Technology Research Institute (BTRi) and the Development Bureau held a highly productive meeting with the State Government of Victoria, Australia (Invest Victoria). The key purpose was to explore the introduction of Modular Integrated Construction (MiC) technology and the development of the MiC supply chain in Victoria.
Through the Modular Integrated Construction Manufacturer Accreditation Scheme (MiC-MAS), it ensures that the eight MiC-MAS-accredited manufacturers maintain high standards of quality assurance and possess proven project credentials. The scheme establishes a consistent technical and quality benchmark for the industry, enhancing manufacturers' credibility in overseas markets while providing international clients with a clear, reliable reference when selecting suitable partners.
Leveraging Hong Kong's established role as a "Super-Connector," BTRi is now deploying mature construction innovations onto the global stage. By bridging regional innovations with international market demands, BTRi continues to drive the transformation toward a sustainable, high-performing built environment worldwide.
To drive this momentum forward, BTRi will organise the MiC Delegation Visit to Victoria in 2026. This visit is designed to understand regulatory requirements, facilitate deeper industry and technical exchange, and foster long-term commercial partnerships on construction innovations between Hong Kong and Australia.
