BTRi Presents at HKGCC Real Estate and Infrastructure Committee Meeting on GBA Construction Standards
On 4 September 2026, the Building Technology Research Institute (BTRi) was invited to the Real Estate and Infrastructure Committee meeting convened by the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce (HKGCC), sharing BTRi’s recent achievements and its insights on the latest developments under the Hong Kong–Guangdong cooperation framework on Greater Bay Area (GBA) construction standards.
The Committee, comprising senior leaders from across the real estate, infrastructure, sustainability and innovation sectors, received a briefing on the key objectives, arrangements and implications of the cooperation framework for the construction and built environment sectors. BTRi's representatives outlined BTRi’s ongoing efforts to formulate GBA construction standards, with the aim of promoting integrated development across the region, and positioning the GBA as one of the leading regions with the most advanced construction technologies.
As a driving force behind GBA construction standards, BTRi remains committed to strengthening Hong Kong's strategic position in the GBA and fostering deeper cross-boundary collaboration across the built environment sector.
