BTRi Attends Industry Seminar, Sharing How AI and Robotics Drive Construction Industry Transformation

On 28 November 2025, Building Technology Research Institute (BTRi) was invited to attend the seminar "Future-Proofing Construction for SMEs: AI, Robotics & Green Tech", co-organised by the Registered Minor Works Contractor Signatory Association Limited and Wo Lee Green Solutions Limited.

Speaking as a guest of honour, Ir WONG Kwok-fai, Alfred, Chief Executive Officer of BTRi, stated that BTRi is assisting the government in facilitating the wider adoption of robotics in the construction industry. BTRi will formulate new standards for the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in construction industry, with the aim of enhancing project quality, safety, and productivity.

Furthermore, Ar Fong Chi-hang, Colin, Section Head (Accreditation, Certification and Testing) of BTRi, delivered a keynote speech. He shared how BTRi is driving the technological transformation of construction industry through BTRi’s three key pillars: promoting applied research and development, advancing standards, and accreditation, certification and testing – all of which collectively contribute to building smarter, safer and more sustainable cities.
