BTRi Attends GBIUA Seminar to Explore Development Opportunities in MiC

On 28 October 2025, BTRi was invited to attend the thematic seminar " Coalescence of Modular-integrated Construction Technologies in the GBA for Sustainable Building Development", organized by the GHM Greater Bay Area Institute of Urban Architecture (HK) (GBIUA). 

Ir YIP Chi-wang, Johnny, Section Head (Standards Advancement) of BTRi, delivered a keynote presentation on " Modular Integrated Construction (MiC) Standards, Policies and Development", sharing how MiC enhances productivity and cost-effectiveness in Hong Kong's construction industry. He highlighted the critical role of BTRi's Modular Integrated Construction Manufacturer Accreditation Scheme (MiC-MAS) in driving innovation and promoting the widespread adoption of MiC. Furthermore, BTRi anticipates that the ongoing development of Greater Bay Area standards for MiC will facilitate the construction industry to “go global” and enable it to seize a broader range of opportunities.
