BTRi at the “2026 Digital Engineering Summit”: Advancing Construction Technology Synergy across the Greater Bay Area
On 29 May 2026, the Building Technology Research Institute (BTRi) attended the “2026 Digital Engineering Summit” held in Shenzhen, and was also invited to participate in the “Digital Intelligence Empowering · International Collaboration and Development Forum on Integrated Construction” (「數智賦能・集成建築國際合作發展論壇」), underscoring Hong Kong’s pivotal role in advancing collaborative development of advanced construction technologies across the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area (Greater Bay Area).
The Summit brought together renowned academics, think-tank experts, industry leaders and corporate representatives from across Mainland and overseas to build consensus and establish an action framework for digital transformation. During the forum’s keynote session, Mr WONG, Leonard Chek Yuet, Deputy Section Head of BTRi, delivered a presentation titled “Connecting the World with a Foundation of Digital Intelligence - International Opportunities for MiC and Green Building Materials”, exploring the potential and prospects of Modular Integrated Construction (MiC) and green building materials in Hong Kong and global markets, and examining how standards advancement can enable the global expansion of advanced technologies to international markets .
As a key proponent of construction technology development in Hong Kong, BTRi is committed to cross-boundary technical exchanges and joint standards development, leveraging collaborative platforms to drive R&D, accelerate application of innovations, and foster synergised development across the industry. Looking ahead, BTRi will continue to deepen its collaborative networks and serve as a catalyst for the digital and green low-carbon transformation of the Greater Bay Area construction industry.
