BCA Visited BTRi to Strengthen Collaboration in Innovation for the Construction Industry
On 8 December 2025, a delegation from the Singapore Building and Construction Authority (BCA) visited BTRi to exchange insights and discuss recent innovations and technological advancements in the Hong Kong and Singapore markets.
BTRi shared successful case studies on the benefits of introducing innovative materials and technologies - such as light weight concrete and Semi-flexible pavement - into the Hong Kong market. BTRi also provided an overview of the latest progress on several key initiatives, including the Construction Product Accreditation Scheme (CPAS) and the AI & robotic adoption in the construction industry. As part of the knowledge exchange, BTRi connected its Innovation Partner, i2Cool, with the BCA delegates to explore the potential adoption of i2Cool’s electricity-free cooling technology into Singapore’s construction industry.
The BCA delegation shared insights into Singapore’s research, innovation, and technology landscape within the built environment. In particular, BCA expressed a shared vision for promoting automation and robotics in the construction industry. The event concluded with a lively networking session, which fostered stronger connections and future collaboration opportunities between both parties.
