Building Technology Research Institute and Guangdong Building Materials Association Hold Exchange Meeting to Promote Construction Products in the Greater Bay Area (GBA)
On 28 April 2026, a delegation from the Building Technology Research Institute (BTRi) visited the Guangdong Building Materials Association (GBMA). The two parties engaged in in-depth exchanges on key areas, including construction product innovation, green transformation, the development of Greater Bay Area (GBA) standards, and the accreditation of construction products.
During the meeting, Ar. Colin Fong, Section Head of BTRi, highlighted BTRi’s commitment to facilitating the adoption of high-quality and cost-effective construction products through the Construction Product Accreditation Scheme (CPAS). He noted that Guangdong, as a leading province in the construction materials industry, is well positioned to support the Greater Bay Area’s accelerating transition toward greener and higher-quality development. BTRi expressed interest to establish a long-term partnership with GBMA to facilitate the entry of GBA construction materials into the Hong Kong market and their progression into international markets, injecting new momentum into the regional construction materials industry.
Looking ahead, BTRi will continue to serve as an important linkage to foster deeper collaboration with stakeholders across the Greater Bay Area, particularly in applied research and development, standards formulation, as well as accreditation and testing.
