BTRi Welcomes 2025-26 Budget to Uplift Construction Industry through Innovation and Standards Advancement
Building Technology Research Institute (BTRi) welcomes the 2025-26 Budget announced by the Financial Secretary, which outlines several initiatives to accelerate the development of construction industry through innovation and enhancing co-operation in the Greater Bay Area (GBA).
Ir HON Chi-keung, Chairperson of BTRi, expressed full support for the Budget. “We are pleased to play a key role in promoting the local application of high-quality and cost-effective construction materials to reduce construction costs, by reviewing and coordinating the testing and certification requirements between standards in different regions. We will closely liaise with the counterparts concerned in Guangdong Province for commencing a strategic study on standards in the GBA soon.”
BTRi is dedicated to driving applied research and development, advancing standards and providing accreditation, certification and testing services; to enhance productivity, cost-effectiveness, quality and safety of the construction industry, thereby supporting the future infrastructure development of Hong Kong.
