The Section Head of the Building Technology Research Institute (BTRi) is a senior leadership role reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The Section Head will be responsible for the formulation and implementation of BTRi’s strategic direction, research excellence, and industry impact.
Responsibilities:
Develop and execute BTRi’s strategic vision and long-term goals;
Formulate and implement strategies for promoting practical and innovative solutions to advance the construction industry;
Identify and capitalize market opportunities for the growth of BTRi;
Monitor the project progress, ensuring they meet technical and financial milestones;
Establish strong connections with researchers, industry partners, local and overseas universities, and government departments with a view to fostering a culture of innovation in construction industry;
Prepare high-quality technical documentation, including research proposals, tender submissions, project reports, and executive briefings;
Assist the CEO to take follow-up action on directives from the Board and prepare workplans and budget as required;
Direct and manage the subordinate staff and their performance; and
Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Board of Directors and/or CEO.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree or above in a relevant field, supplemented by professional qualifications. Minimum of 15 years’ of professional experience in the construction industry, with a proven track record of leadership and innovation.
In-depth, practical knowledge of construction project implementation and a thorough understanding of the regulatory frameworks governing both public and private sector projects.
A proactive, forward-thinking and self-motivated professional who can independently identify opportunities and spearhead initiatives to tackle key industry challenges.
Extensive connections and a strong professional reputation with key stakeholders, including relevant government departments, academic institutions, and industry leaders; and
High proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin)
Salary and Benefit
We offer a 5-day work week and attractive remuneration package i.e., medical benefits and annual leave to the successful candidate. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
