BTRi Delegation Arrives in Victoria to Showcase MiC Development to International Markets
The Building Technology Research Institute (BTRi) was delighted to lead an exclusive delegation to the State of Victoria, Australia, from 13 to 17 July on a strategic mission dedicated to showcasing Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area’s Modular Integrated Construction (MiC) supply chain development across international markets. The delegation comprised around 30 senior representatives from 14 organisations spanning Hong Kong's government, MiC manufacturers, contractors and consultants, fostering cross-border dialogue and exploring collaborative opportunities with Australian industry stakeholders.
On the first day, the delegation engaged in a productive exchange session hosted by Invest Victoria of the Victorian Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions, where the regulatory and precincts development opportunities in the State of Victoria were discussed in depth. A key focus of the discussion was policies and market demand for Modern Methods of Construction, with both sides exploring opportunities for knowledge sharing and collaborative efforts to drive MiC adoption within the state.
The programme also featured an exchange session with one of the construction leaders, Multiplex, followed by a site visit to a student accommodation tower. It provided on-the-ground insights into local construction practices and the application of Modern Methods of Construction in real-world project settings.
This visit reflects BTRi’s ongoing dedication to establishing Hong Kong as a strategic MiC hub, leveraging collective strengths to foster international knowledge exchange, drive best-practice sharing, and forge lasting cross-border collaborations. BTRi remains commited to bridging industry expertise and championing MiC development on the global stage.
