The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Smart Construction Cooperation Development Conference and the Establishment Meeting of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Smart Construction Industry Development Alliance (Alliance) have been successfully held in Guangzhou. The Alliance is led by the Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of Guangdong Province, the Education and Science Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the HKSAR and the Development Bureau of HKSAR Government. The Building Technology Research Institute (BTRi) and Guangdong Provincial Academy of Building Research Group Company Limited will both serve as the director units of the Alliance, committed to foster the sustainable development in Smart Construction and industrialisation of construction industry by collaborating with the 51 participating enterprises, institutions and industry organisations.
Ir. Hon Chi-keung, the Chairperson of BTRi, has delivered the outlook statement as the Chairman of the Alliance. He indicated BTRi would act as the “super-connector”, and shall aim to foster the close collaboration within the Alliance, formulate the GBA Standards for the smart construction technology, with an view to promoting Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao as one of the most advanced region in the country and in the world on smart construction industry.
