BTRi led six Hong Kong universities and construction technology research institutions to participate in the "The 2nd Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Construction Science and Technology Forum"

On 27 March 2025, BTRi led six Hong Kong universities and construction technology research institutions including The University of Hong Kong Modular Integrated Construction Laboratory (MiCLab), The Hong Kong Polytechnic University Chinese National Engineering Research Centre for Steel Construction (Hong Kong Branch) (CNERC), i2Cool, NAMI, Hip Hing Construction Co., Ltd., and HKQAA to Guangzhou to participate in the "The 2nd Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Construction Science and Technology Forum" (“第二屆粵港澳大灣區建築科學技術交流大會”) . 

The Forum was hosted by the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Building Technology Alliance, Guangdong Provincial Academy of Building Research Group Co., Ltd., and the BTRi. This Forum is aimed at deepening the co-operation within the Greater Bay Area and taking forward the integration and synergistic development in the construction industry.  

The Chief Executive Officer (Acting) of BTRi, Mr. Chow Sui-ping, stated: "BTRi will continue to drive innovation in the construction industry in Hong Kong, with the aim of enhancing productivity and reducing construction cost. We will leverage our unique advantage under "One Country, Two Systems", and serve as a "super-connector" to promote our country’s high-quality construction technologies and products to the world." 

Section Head of BTRi, Mr. So Hong-lung, delivered a keynote report titled "Advancing Hong Kong's Construction Technology for Shared Global Opportunities", highlighted BTRi's unique strengths and its pivotal role in advancing building technology innovation within the Greater Bay Area. He emphasized BTRi is committed to advancing the Greater Bay Area as a hub for collaborative construction innovation, establishing unified standards, and creating new pathways for international growth.
